Phyto-Source, L.P. has made significant progress in increasing capacity at its manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. In January 2007, Phyto-Source’s plant cap-acity was successfully increased by over 40% to meet the increased demand for the company’s cholesterol-lowering food ingredient, Phyto-S-Sterol. Further process debottlenecking initiatives, technology improvements, and capital additions have resulted in an additional 30% capacity increase. The plant’s total output is now 3000 MT per year.
